If you are near sighted can your vision improve if you don’t wear glasses?
Some people said not wearing glasses did improve their vision, while others said it didn’t, but nobody specified if they were near sighted or far sighted. So if you are near sighted and you don’t wear your glasses did the doctor say your vision improved or not? Anybody that knows their stuff, please answer.
That makes no sense. You need to wear glasses because your vision became worse before the time you got glasses, right? If your eyes became worse before you got glasses, so obviously you weren’t wearing glasses when your eyes became worse to the point of needing them, right? So, does it makes sense that not wearing your glasses now will make your eyes better?
Glasses do nothing to change eyesight anyway. Your eyes will get better or worse as they will. Glasses only focus light where it needs to be for your current prescription. If you need stronger or weaker glasses later on, it has nothing to do with the glasses or how much / little you wear them. It’s because your eyes have changed.
do eye exercises and such really improve your eye site?
i would like to find a way to naturally improve my eyesight. i have looked up the bates method, but apparantly it’s not scientifically proven to work. does anyone have any suggestions?
If you’re looking for natural methods that are scientifically proven, you can stop your search right now because you wont’ find any. That doesn’t mean that natural methods don’t work, it only means that natural methods have not been studied in a scientific way. A scientific study would require huge amounts of money, lots of doctors and a very long time. It would also require something nearly impossible to find: many people who practice a certain method regularly and for the necessary time, which could mean years. Natural methods are dozens. To study just one would be very dificult but to study them all would be inconceivable because you have to always bear in mind that natural methods are NOT a source of money such as drugs, laser surgery and so on. The method I’m practicing I learned from a book that cost me $10. Who would spend millions to study something that’s so cheap ? Moreover I do not need the book anymore because I already know what to do.
Unfortunately there are many methods that are just scams but you can easily recognize them because they promise miracles . Miracles do not exist. You have to work hard for a long time. Dont’ trust method which promise to cure everything from nearsightedness to cataract or macular degeneraton, that’s simply impossible.
I used to be skeptical about these methods because they were always advertised like the latest wondrous diet-pill and i didn’t trust Bates because it’s too old (early ‘900). But last year a found a book that despite the pretentious title ("The secret of perfect vision") is actually very serious and full of explanations as to why an eye gets nearsighted and what we have to do to reverse the process.
So far I’ve decreased my prescription from -4 to -2 and I don’t think I’ve been scammed.

Does the BATES METHOD improve your eyesight?
are they any other methods?
where can i find these methods?
can you wear prescripted contact lens whilst doing them?
or is it a lie?
I have -7.00 myopia, 17 years old, and i would really like an improvement to my eyesight.
As you already know your myopia is a bit high, so it’s almost impossible to completely eliminate it. However you can improve it a lot by doing the proper exercises for a very long time. I dont’ recommend the Bates method because it’s too old. Bates was born in 1860 and during his life there were almost no relevant scientific studies as we intend them today. His work was admirable for his time, but his method is hardly effective, especially on high myopia. For instance Bates did not consider eye-strain induced by near work as a cause of myopia. Nowadays we know that it is the main cause. Since -7 at 17 is a bit unusual, it is possible that some genetic factors are involved, but you must not consider this as the only reason of your problem.
I’m strongy convinced that if you start using undercorrections (especially for near work) and doing the proper exercises you can improve dramatically.
In my opinion the best method is the one by De Angelis which I’ve been practicing for over a year and so far I’ve reduced my prescription by more than half (it was -5 when I started).
Before starting any method by any author you must consult your ophthalmologist (a medical eye-doctor, not just an optometrist) because you have to know if your eyes are healthy. High myopia is sometimes associated with risk of retinal damage and in such a situation even coughing may be dangerous, let alone doing exercises. Of course every doctor will tell you that exercises are useless, a waste of time, but that’s not the point, they just have to tell you if you can do the exercises without risks.

Is the Nike Shox Vision TB a good basketball sneaker?
They were having a clearance sale at my local Modell’s and had one pair only and sure enough it was my size, regular $110 for $49.99 so I bought them, they seem very comfortable although I don’t play a whole lot of basketball, can they also be used for as a cross-training or walking type sneaker? Thanks.
Mediocre. I believe they’re somehow bad for the ankles.
