What are some good eye strain exercises?
do eye exercises really work to fix short/near sightedness?
or is it just a scam to make your eyes worse?
if true then what kind of exercises work?
thanks
Some exercises really do work, while some others do absolutely nothing.
In the worst case, they’re a scam because they take your money in exchange for something that doesn’t work, but they won’t make your eyesight worse. It simply will stay the same.
It’s actually quite easy to detect a scam. Just look at the way they’re advertised: if they promise to fix your vision problem quickly and without effort, they’re a scam. If they’re overly enthusiastic and it looks like they’re advertising the latest miracle diet-pill, it’s a scam. If it costs a lot, it’s surely a scam.
Since most methods have those characteristics or are a hundred years old (like the Bates method), I’ve never really thought of starting a visual training method. But one day a found a book that despite a horrible and pretentious title ("The secret of perfect vision") was actually very serious and contained a lot of explanations not only about the exercises, but also about how the eyes work, the causes of nearsightedness and other important physiological aspects which are extremely important to know. I decided to try it and so far I’ve improved my nearsightedness a lot, from -3.75 to -1, and I’m not finished yet.
The big problem of this or of any other method that really works, is that it takes a long time and great patience, while most people want immediate results without any effort. Of course it’s much easier and quick if you’re only mildly nearsighted, but in any case you can’t expect to fix your eyesight in a month.

Eye exercises seem to be improving my vision?
ive been doing eye exersises for about 2 weeks now. Ever since I started, whenever I blink I seem to have 20/20 vision for 5 seconds before it goes back to 20/40 when I blink again. I kept doing the exercises and my vision seems to stay 20/20 for a longer time now. Should I continue doing the exercises? Or should I just try relaxing my eyes because that seems to help more.
eye exercise?! theres such thing?!
maybe its all in your head..?
Can lazy eye exercises correct amblyopia ?
I’ve read somewhere that special eye exercises can correct lazy eye. Is that true ?. What kind of exercises are they ?
Amblyopia can be dramatically improved by performing lazy eye exercises. A study shows that with a continuous treatment, some people can recover from lazy eye, or amblyopia in just about two weeks. No matter what form of treatment the doctor recommends, eye exercises will help to strengthen your eye muscles as part of your therapy program. Below are three basic methods to improve your vision.
1. Eye Patch
Eye patch is probably the most recommended form of treatment because it is safe, effective and inexpensive. The very act of wearing an eye patch itself can be considered as part of the exercise. By covering the dominant eye with an eye patch, the weaker eye is forced to work harder and can communicate with the brain.
2. Training the eyes
After the good eye is covered with an eye patch, you can begin treating the amblyopic eye with lazy eye exercises. Three exercises specially developed to train lazy eyes are : focusing, rolling and tracking.
Focusing Skills
This exercise should be performed by quick shifting focus from near to far distance. For example, read printouts numbers on a sheet of paper then quickly shift your eye to look to a wall calendar.
Rolling
Cover the stronger eye with a patch, then roll the eyes with circular motion.
Tracking
Another lazy eye exercise is tracking. Tracking can help people to integrate the central and peripheral vision. The central vision inform us about the object we are looking at and the peripheral vision tells us to locate the objects. Good vision should have good integration of both these visions.
Here is how to do : use your eye to track the outline of a circle or any other shape. Track the image continuously without any interruption.
3. Focusing on small objects
Train the weaker eye to look small objects or read letters in a book or newspaper. Remember to cover the stronger eye with eye patch and do this exercise at least one hour each day. If you like you can also do crossword puzzles or any other print games on magazines.
Some researchers have developed therapy computer game to help improving the neurons in the brain controlling eye function. It is said that this special therapeutic game can boost the result of lazy eye treatments.
Many people have experienced significant result by following lazy eye exercises without the help of eye surgery and artificial lenses. The exercises can effectively help you treat amblyopia at any age, even if your parents have poor eyesight condition.
do eye exercises and such really improve your eye site?
i would like to find a way to naturally improve my eyesight. i have looked up the bates method, but apparantly it’s not scientifically proven to work. does anyone have any suggestions?
If you’re looking for natural methods that are scientifically proven, you can stop your search right now because you wont’ find any. That doesn’t mean that natural methods don’t work, it only means that natural methods have not been studied in a scientific way. A scientific study would require huge amounts of money, lots of doctors and a very long time. It would also require something nearly impossible to find: many people who practice a certain method regularly and for the necessary time, which could mean years. Natural methods are dozens. To study just one would be very dificult but to study them all would be inconceivable because you have to always bear in mind that natural methods are NOT a source of money such as drugs, laser surgery and so on. The method I’m practicing I learned from a book that cost me $10. Who would spend millions to study something that’s so cheap ? Moreover I do not need the book anymore because I already know what to do.
Unfortunately there are many methods that are just scams but you can easily recognize them because they promise miracles . Miracles do not exist. You have to work hard for a long time. Dont’ trust method which promise to cure everything from nearsightedness to cataract or macular degeneraton, that’s simply impossible.
I used to be skeptical about these methods because they were always advertised like the latest wondrous diet-pill and i didn’t trust Bates because it’s too old (early ‘900). But last year a found a book that despite the pretentious title ("The secret of perfect vision") is actually very serious and full of explanations as to why an eye gets nearsighted and what we have to do to reverse the process.
So far I’ve decreased my prescription from -4 to -2 and I don’t think I’ve been scammed.

Do I do various eye exercises with glasses on or off?
I have worn glasses for most of my life and recently read some articles about improving vision naturally through eye exercises. I was just wondering, am I supposed to do some of these things with my glasses? Or am I supposed to do them without my glasses?
The exercises I’m talking about are like focusing on something close and the focusing on something far, palming, zooming, etc.
Some are meant to be done with weak correction (weaker glasses), others must be done without glasses, some it doesn’t matter.
Only exercises won’t help you as much as overall health improvement if at all…
The Methods themselves are more about overall health improvement then working only with the eyes.
Most people don’t know it as traditional medicine likes to prove it wrong without even checking the whole method. And the test only short time progress while for most of the patients it takes months-years to improve but the overall benefit is huge, not only for the eyes.
Can eye exercises actually improve your vision?
If so, by how much? And if not, what does it actually do? Is there any way to improve eyesight without Lasik eye surgery?
Short answer, no.
Long answer, also no.
Those who perpetrate this myth are frauds. You cannot manipulate the visual system into better sight. It just doesn’t work that way. If it did, manufacturers and retailers of optical corrections would have been out of business decades ago.
Does anyone know of any eye exercises to help my eyes focus?
I wear glasses, but sometimes if I close my eyes hard and open them to focus on the screen, for example the lectures in a classroom, it becomes clear and it’s almost perfect vision. However, I am only able to maintain it for about 5-10seconds and it becomes blurry again. Does anyone know of any exercises that could help my eyes train and maintain that good vision?
There are no such things as eye exercises to improve vision. That’s basically just nonsense spewed by people who have nothing better to sell.
The reason your eyes change their focus is due to your blink. That’s not something you can correct.
I just did some eye exercises, and the back of my eyes hurt when i move my eyes. Is this normal?
Like is this normal? Can anyone give me some answer that dosen’t invole an optometrist?
When you run for a long time you legs began to hurt don’t they ? Is that normal?
